High Down Junior School Teacher meets the Commons Education Select Committee

High Down Junior School teacher, Ben Culverhouse, was one of ten teachers chosen from across the country to meet the new Commons Education Select Committee, a group of cross-party MPs whose job it is to scrutinise the government’s education policies.

Items on the agenda included teacher recruitment/retention, workload and mental health in schools, and interesting and productive discussions took place on these very prominent topics.

Mr Culverhouse said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to make my voice (and that of other teachers) heard, and hopefully influence some of these issues in some way! High Down Junior School celebrates its second Parliament Week next week – please do get involved and support this via the hashtag #UKPW17 on social media.”
