Chew Valley School has joined the Lighthouse Schools Partnership as of 1st February 2018 following a Governing Body vote in November.
Lighthouse Schools Partnership is a Multi-Academy Trust formed in September 2016. Existing members include Gordano School, High Down Schools, Portishead Primary School, St Peter’s CE Primary School, St Mary’s CE Primary School and Backwell School. To date schools have collaborated very closely on staff training and the development of new shared approaches to raise standards for children and young people.
Chew Valley School Headteacher Gareth Beynon said: “I am delighted that our school is joining the Lighthouse Schools Partnership, an organisation that shares our student-centred and personalised approach where individual students lie at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to working in close collaboration with our secondary and primary partners, all of whom share our same core values.
“This is such an exciting time as working with our Trust partners will bring a great many benefits for our students as we share facilities and staff expertise to develop the opportunities available across our schools.”
Chief Executive Gary Lewis said: “I am thrilled that Chew Valley School has elected to join out Trust. I know the school and community well as I spent six very happy years there as Deputy Head. Gareth Beynon is doing an amazing job at the school and he and his great team will bring a lot to our Trust. I will personally be doing my utmost to make sure that Chew Valley’s reputation for excellence continues to grow in the context of Lighthouse Schools Partnership.”
