On Saturday the 24th February a team of children, parents and staff were supported by members of Portishead in Bloom to redevelop their Key Stage 2 school garden.
A crew of volunteers, weeded, trimmed, planted, pruned and painted ready for the Spring.
Portishead Primary Headteacher, Richard Riordan said: “It was a fantastic morning for everyone in the bright February sunshine and has made a real difference to our school. As well as transforming our garden this opportunity has allowed our community to make new friends whilst making a difference to our very special school.”
A community gardening session is planned for April when vegetables will be planted as part of our healthy school’s initiative which will be harvested and cooked by the children.
