Ofsted Report for St Mary Redcliffe Primary

St Mary Redcliffe CofE Primary School was inspected by Ofsted in January 2026. The school’s last inspection was in November 2021 and the most recent inspection was under the new framework in which Ofsted no longer give one-word effectiveness judgements. The report is also set out on the new Ofsted Report Card format.
Inspectors identified a number of important strengths within the school, particular around the wellbeing and safety of the children: “Relationships between adults and children are positive and supportive, helping children to feel safe and secure” and “pupils are safe, happy and welcoming. They live out the school’s distinctive vision, ‘rooted in love’, in the warm friendships they make.”
They also highlighted areas which ‘need improvement’ which we agree to be a fair reflection of the areas to improve on.
St Mary Redcliffe Primary joined Lighthouse Schools Partnership in January 2025. Since then rapid improvement has been made, after a difficult period of time for the school, which was recognised in the report “In the previous academic year, the school had significant changes in leadership and staffing, with a new head teacher and the transfer to a new Trust. With the support of the trust, leaders have now secured greater stability. They have established a clear and ambitious vision. They have an accurate understanding of the school’s context and strengths and areas for improvement.” School staff, Governors and colleagues within the Central Team at LSP will all continue to work together to address areas for change and development.
