Student leaders from across LSP joined together at Backwell School for the LSP Student Leadership Conference in February 2026.

In the morning there was a team building challenge to create a "Trajan's Column" of leadership where students from different schools worked together, developing their teamwork and leadership skills. This was followed after lunch by the opportunity to hear from each student council who gave short presentations outlining their current projects, successes and challenges.

The day ended with a visit from the MP for North Somerset, Sadik Al Hassan who gave a really inspiring presentation about his leadership journey. Students then had a Q and A session with Sadik with questions on a wide variety of topics from lowering the voting age to 16, social media bans for under 16s, support for trans young people, England's relationship with Donald Trump and the current Labour government.

Students loved the opportunity to meet other student leaders from different schools and to share ideas and experiences from their respective schools to inspire each other for future projects.
