Following their recent inspection in July 2026, Northleaze CofE Primary School celebrates a positive Ofsted report, highlighting praise across all areas.

This is the first time the school has been inspected under the new Ofsted framework in which single word judgements for overall effectiveness are no longer awarded and a ‘scorecard’ is produced instead.

The inspection team identified a positive culture where pupils are “enthusiastic learners” and “feel a keen sense of belonging to the school”. The report notes how children at the school “enjoy warm relationships with staff” and “live out the school’s values, such as demonstrating friendship and compassion”.

The report highlights the secure foundations that pupils gain in key areas, such as reading, writing and maths, which “is reflected in their achievement in national tests, which is often above the national average”.

Attendance and behaviour at the school was praised, with inspectors highlighting that pupils “arrive at school on time and ready to learn” and they “conduct themselves well in classrooms and around the school”. The extra-curricular offer was also positively identified, with pupils being offered “a range of experiences beyond the classroom…  cultural opportunities through visits to a music festival, art galleries and a flower show.”

Following publication of the Report, Headteacher at Northleaze Primary School, Mrs Corinne Clarke, said “We are incredibly proud of this report and the recognition it gives to our wonderful children, dedicated staff, supportive governors and families. The inspection reflects the caring and ambitious community we continue to build together at Northleaze. We were particularly pleased that inspectors recognised our strong sense of belonging, our Christian values and the positive relationships that make our school such a special place. While we are proud of what has been achieved, we remain committed to continual improvement so that every child can truly let their light shine.”
