Fishponds CofE Primary School was inspected by Ofsted in July 2026. The school’s last inspection was in March 2022 and this is the first time the school has been inspected under the new Ofsted framework in which single word judgements for overall effectiveness are no longer awarded and a ‘scorecard’ is produced instead. 

The report reflects the journey the school has taken so far, and continues to be on, since joining Lighthouse Schools Partnership in 2025. Inspectors recognised the ‘considerable progress that has been made in areas such as curriculum development, teaching, early years provision and inclusion since the school joined the trust’ giving a grading of ‘Expected Standard’ in these key areas. They also identified areas which ‘Needs Attention’ – which match our self-evaluation of areas to continue to improve on.  

We are pleased to see that the action taken so far is moving us in right direction, however there is still work to do and we’re committed to working together to keep making progress so Fishponds Primary pupils can flourish.
