Backwell School Careers Fair held on 7th March was a huge success as more than 600 parents and caregivers participated in discussions with various employers, training providers, colleges, and universities.

A group of Year 10 and 11 Backwell students tackled a stage version of William Golding’s classic tale ‘The Lord of the Flies’, which sees a group of young castaways, freed from the restraints of civilisation and parental control descend into savagery.
Whitchurch Primary launched their readathon with 'Bedtime Stories' where children enjoyed stories from their teachers, before snuggling down to enjoy hot chocolate and popcorn for a whole school story session!
It was a big success, with nearly half of the school attending. Over the next few weeks, teachers will be encouraging children to read even more, both at school and at home. Through devouring as many books as they can, children will raise funds for their school through a sponsored read.
