We are delighted to announce that Burrington and Wrington CE Primary Schools have joined the Lighthouse Schools Partnership as of January 1, 2023.
Year 12 Product Design Backwell students attended furniture making workshops throughout December at Artichoke Ltd.
Over 120 people attended our Business Breakfast on 2 December. Mark Kelly, Managing Director of Bristol Sport and Ashton Gate Ltd. shared his knowledge and experiences and gave a fascinating insight into his journey, including how he built an international brand at Bristol Sport and how this ambitious vision was realised.
As part of their Great Fire of London writing activity in Year Two, High Down infants were busy writing questions for Thomas Farriner, Pudding Lane bakery owner and potential fire starter, when their time machine spat out not one but THREE Thomas Farriners!
A group of Year 10 and 11 Backwell students tackled a stage version of William Golding’s classic tale ‘The Lord of the Flies’, which sees a group of young castaways, freed from the restraints of civilisation and parental control descend into savagery.
Whitchurch Primary launched their readathon with 'Bedtime Stories' where children enjoyed stories from their teachers, before snuggling down to enjoy hot chocolate and popcorn for a whole school story session!
It was a big success, with nearly half of the school attending. Over the next few weeks, teachers will be encouraging children to read even more, both at school and at home. Through devouring as many books as they can, children will raise funds for their school through a sponsored read.
