Ofsted Report for Easton C of E Primary School

Easton CofE Primary School was inspected by Ofsted in January 2025. The school’s last inspection was in June 2023 and the most recent inspection was under the new framework in which Ofsted no longer give one-word effectiveness judgements.
The report recognises a number of strengths across the school giving a grading of Good in three out of five key areas. It also identifies two areas which ‘requires improvement’ – which we agree to be a fair reflection of the areas to improve on.
Inspectors identified a number of important strengths within the school, particular around the wellbeing of the children, and support for those with additional needs: “Pupils feel safe and welcome at this diverse, inclusive school. The school environment is harmonious and calm. Pupils show respect and kindness in their relationships with others. Staff provide effective support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those for whom English is an additional language. Consequently, these pupils learn the same curriculum as their peers. The curriculum for pupils attending the specially resourced provision is highly appropriate to their needs”.
Easton Primary joined Lighthouse Schools Partnership in January 2025. Since then rapid improvement has been made, after a difficult period of time for the school, which was recognised in the report “The school has experienced a period of significant turbulence and uncertainty prior to joining Lighthouse Schools Partnership Multi-Academy Trust in January 2025. Leaders have identified the right areas to focus on in order to improve the quality of education. The school has recently raised its expectations of what pupils can achieve”. School staff, Governors and colleagues within the Central Team at LSP will all continue to work together to address areas for change and development.
