Wrington CofE Primary pupils are cherished and nurtured

Following an inspection in June 2025 Ofsted has graded Wrington CofE Primary School as Good in all areas.
This is the first time the school has been inspected under Section 5 of the Education Act 2005 and was conducted under the new Ofsted framework in which single-word judgements for overall effectiveness are no longer awarded.
The inspection team identified a “broad and ambitious curriculum” where “pupils achieve well and rise to the high expectations staff have of them.”
The school's strong sense of community and care was recognised and the impact this has on the children is reflected in the “kind and happy nature of pupils. They feel safe because staff care for them well. They are encouraged to 'flourish and aspire' as demonstrated by their attainment and curriculum.
The range of opportunities offered to pupils was also noted, particularly around Music and the benefits this has on developing both self-assurance and wellbeing: “Pupils appreciate the chance to shine at Wrington due to the variety of opportunities. The school offers a range of opportunities to perform to develop confidence, for example at summer evening concerts. The sound of joyful singing permeates throughout the school.”
Specific strengths were also identified within SEND provision at the school, “The school identifies the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) early and accurately. Staff support these pupils well to help them to achieve specific and measurable targets.”
Headteacher, Ms Sarah Joskey, is delighted with the report “I know what a special place Wrington Primary is, and I am so pleased that Ofsted recognised the fantastic staff and children we have. We are really proud of the exciting opportunities we offer pupils, especially around music and sport, and will continue to strive to offer them a strong and effective curriculum to help them flourish and aspire.”
Following the publication of Ofsted’s report, Dr Gary Lewis, Chief Executive said, “Wrington CofE Primary is a delightful village school rooted in its community. This report describes pupils who are full of joy in their learning. The school’s staff are dedicated to ensuring that the children develop skills to become well-rounded members of society. Ms Joskey, and her team, should be very proud of this report.”
