Northleaze CoE Primary School welcomes new Headteacher

Northleaze CoE Primary School welcomes new Headteacher

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mrs. Corinne Clarke as the new Headteacher at Northleaze CoE Primary School, effective from September 2025. Mrs Clarke is a dedicated school leader who brings knowledge, enthusiasm, and a passion for building the foundations for a positive and inspiring learning environment for all students.

Northleaze is a vibrant, one-form entry school for children aged 3 to 11, with a strong ethos of respect, inclusion, and a shared commitment to being the very best we can be. The school’s guiding motto, “Let your light shine” (Matthew 5:16), is at the heart of everything they do. Located in the picturesque village of Long Ashton, the school has a community feel offering places to children from the village, North Somerset and south Bristol.

Northleaze has a rich musical heritage and takes pride in nurturing a lifelong love of music among its pupils. The school offers a wide range of performance opportunities in an array of venues and in front of varied audiences, helping children build confidence and develop skills that benefit them across all areas of life.

Academic achievement is also a key strength at Northleaze, with pupils consistently attaining excellent results—Reading and Maths scores in the 2024/25 Key Stage 2 SATs were significantly above the national average.

Beyond the classroom, play is highly valued. Through the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) Programme, the school has created an exciting and inclusive outdoor play environment that supports children's wellbeing, creativity, and social development.

Mrs Clarke, Headteacher at Northleaze CE Primary School said “I’m delighted to join Northleaze, and I’m looking forward to working with such a dedicated team of staff, governors, and parents to help nurture the warm, inclusive atmosphere that makes our school so special. The school itself is set within a historic location and surrounded by woodland, offering pupils a truly unique learning environment that fosters curiosity and a deep connection to nature. I’m excited to see how we can develop this further as we journey ahead.

LSP Chief Executive Dr Gary Lewis: “We are delighted that Corinne Clarke has returned to Lighthouse Schools Partnership in her new role as Headteacher of Northleaze CoE Primary School. Mrs Clarke has previously worked within our Trust as a Deputy Headteacher, before a short secondment to another local school. She has a wealth of experience and commitment to excellence. This is an exciting new chapter for Northleaze, and we look forward to the positive developments she will bring to the school.”

Northleaze CoE Primary School is accepting applications for pupils to join Reception in September 2026, in the newly developed EYFS classroom. Please visit the school’s website to find out more.
